DCII – Youth Democracy Festival 2019
DCII has together with Gladsaxe High School and a group of Indian students from Lotus Valley international School Noida – Over two days (5th and 6th September) participated at this years Youth democracy festival in Valby Parken in Copenhagen where the students danced, cooked and explored what India and Denmark share in discussions on democracy.
International Bhangra Artist Christine Meier gathered people with a fun and educational dance workshop and showed the youth that We Share Dance with all its rhythm and happiness. Chefs from Cykel kokken – The bike chef came to cook and teach about sustainable cooking and challenged the Youth in groups to compete on who could make the most creative and sustainable mix of the Indian and Danish kitchen. On co-workshops have students and interested been working together and discussed solutions on how we together can work towards fulfilling UN’s sustainable development goals. It has been interesting to see how the youth, as a new generation, have different views on relevant topics of today. Having a group of youth from the world’s biggest democracy – India- working together with a group of Danes have made I possible to work on the mantra that all voices counts in the world of democracy.
