Who we are
Danish Cultural Institute is a self-governing institution. Since 1940 we have created a mutual understanding between people and cultures.
Our activities and projects push boundaries and create opportunities for intercultural relations and sustainable growth and development.
Our 7 Danish Cultural Institutes abroad are the focal points for the creation of long term cultural relations, that contribute to inspire Danish arts and culture, and strengthen the mutual learning process, that can challenge and inspire cultural life at home as well as abroad.
At the moment we have branches in Denmark, Belgium, Brazil, China, India, Latvia, Poland and Russia. In 2018 we had activities in 18 countries, including pop up events in Belarus and Turkey.
